Welcome to the Rescue City Church formally known as Rivers Edge Church aka R.E.C.

Rescue City Church is a vibrant ministry currently located in Paterson, New Jersey. This ministry proudly serves congregants and people from the city of Paterson as well as the surrounding communities.  God providentially arranged the organizing of this flock that would passionately pursue the agenda of his kingdom.  This ministry was birthed out of a bible study at a community center in Teaneck, New Jersey in March 2011.  The bible study made an immediate impact and within 5 months it became necessary to find a church building to hold services. 

On August 7th 2011, the Rivers Edge Church held its first Sunday morning worship service at its first location in River Edge, NJ.  There were 45 people in attendance. In December 2011, Pastor Lloyd Brown was installed as Senior Pastor of the River's Edge Church of Jesus Christ by Bishop Walter G. McKoy.  Within the next year, REC experienced growth again and moved from its original location in River Edge to Haledon NJ where it is presently located.  Under the leadership of Pastor Brown, REC has become one of the most dynamic churches in NJ.  REC is committed to educate, encourage, and empower every believer to live a lifestyle of worship and victory.

REC is on the cutting edge of ministry in the state of New Jersey. This exciting and youthful ministry has been graced to transcend all denominational as well as cultural boundaries, creating a fresh and innovative template for the 21st century.  Its ministry and services are dedicated to the promotion of spiritual wellbeing, physical wellbeing, as well as the economic empowerment of the individual. In short REC is developing a people to achieve their full potential in life, irrespective of socio – economic conditions or ethnic backgrounds.

After 9 years of worshipping at 18 Zabriskie St in Haledon the ministry moved to 77 Prospect St in Paterson NJ.  While at that location and upon hearing the voice of the Lord, a decision was made in Dec 2022 to our officially change the name of the ministry from Rivers Edge Church to Rescue City Church.  Rescue City as it is now known began to make an immediate impact on the community however the Lord wasn't finished us yet because in Dec 2023 now called Rescue City Church moved to it's present location at 176 12th Ave. Paterson NJ.  At our present location our ministry has begun to flourish and inspire the community around us. Rescue Cith has become a haven for lost souls.  The Lord continues to bless our ministry and we believe that the best is yet to come...
